came across this paper - Quantum Mechanics can be understood through stochastic optimization on spacetimes

Jun 2016
The maths is way above my level, but the arguments seem plausible.
I found the parallels with with the behaviors of particles in a gas intriguing,
with the (apparently) random behavior of QM particles being caused by random fluctuations on a more fundamental level
(in the paper it suggests random fluctuations in the vacuum energy),
a bit like Brownian motion.
