Electricity is associated with stationary or moving electric charges. Electric charge is a fundamental property of matter borne by elementary particles. The particle involved in electricity is the electron, which carries a charge designated, by convention, as negative. Manifestations of electricity are the result of accumulation or motion of numbers of electrons. Magnetism is associated with magnetic fields, which arise from the motion of electric charges. Magnetism can take many forms, and is associated with elementary particles (electrons) having a spin property.
