Cool Diameter of an open tube!! Affects??

Hi guys! I am new to this forum! I am a sound artist living in Miami, currently studying resonance in open tubes.

I am wondering, how does the diameter of an open tube affect the resonance of a standing wave in the tube?

Thank you!! Any help is appreciated!

Think of an old church organ lots of different pipes all different diameters , the pipes are sometimes square in cross section.

The bigger the size the deeper the note

Er no.

The resonance depends upon the length of the pipe.
The power depends upon the diameter.

We need more power in the lower frequency ranges, which is why the pipes are fatter, just as with bass loudspeakers.

There is also a length to diameter ratio to make the pipe a pipe as the resonance for squat boxes is different.

Thanks for your reply!

What do you mean by power?

Do you know the equations I can use to calculate "power" and "length to diameter ratio"?

Using someone else's equations for a subject you have limited understanding of can be dangerous.

Please try to explain exactly what you are trying to do.
