**Calculate outlet temperature of adiabatic turbine**
Assume the gas is ideal and monatomic.
The inlet gas is at 0.100 MPa and 25 degrees C.
The outlet gas is at 2.0 MPa.
The work rate is 10 kJ / mole of gas.
I know that the work = delta h, so it's outlet enthalpy minus inlet enthalpy.
I've tried using this formula for a reversible adiabatic process:
T2 = T1 (P2 / P1) ^ (1 / ((Cv/R)+1))
using Cv = (3/2)R since it's a monatomic gas, but I can't get the correct answer, which is 506 degrees C.
Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: I tried using delta h = Cp delta T, and ended up getting the correct answer. Not sure why I can use Cp when the system isn't at constant pressure, but okay.
