General relativity

Is anyone here familiar with the mathematics (ie Einstein Field Equations) of GR. I have a question which is similar in appearance to ''space travel'' problems given in SR, however due to the acceleration involved, I'm sure a solution using the Lorentz equations of SR is flawed. On the other hand, the Einstein Field Equations are extremely difficult to make use of.

PS: I'm asking the above question first because on another forum, I came to realize that those who are unfamiliar with the specifics of GR, appear to think that many problems (even ones that include acceleration) can be entirely solved using the Lorentz equations from SR. It was a very frustrating debate.

I studied General Relativity myself. How can I be of help?
