Question Wanted: eps-sketches for problems in mechanics

Hi everybody,

I'm looking for a software (preferably freeware) with which to easily create eps-figures depicting standard situations in classical mechanics. Just drag and drop some pulleys, springs, levers, weights, strings, and such in place, add some (TeX-) annotations and save the whole thing as an eps.

It seems I can't find such a piece of software, although tons of teaching assistans ought to have the same problem.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I've actually been looking for such a program for years now. The best I've come up with is a "cad" program. The trouble with that is there is no freeware version of such that I've been able to find. But if you do come across one, please share.
