the concept of a line in real cosmos

Mir Studiot has research about the self intersected line, we come back to discuss it again. And we only talk about it in one dimension for simplicity.
In order to represent a point on such a line(or 1D space) we make use of homogenous coordinate(X1,X4),if in our familiar world,X4=1,and it could be denoted as (X1,1) , and the infinite point is (X1,0), X1 is a real number.
What is the meaning of (X1,0)?
The terminal of such a line(relative to the standing point of us)? If it is,its state nature should be the same as any other point and its X4 should be 1 too.
Why there is two states in one space?
Or it represent the termination of a space? In another word the restart point, the boost point. If it is, because X1 is any real number, so any point of the space is its boost point. Namely , any point in the universe is its center.

cosmos is alive

Mir Studiot is good, the self-intersected line is a loop ,a loop in the real 4D space-time

Wrong. I know two people at MIT who are authorities in this area and as such are not able to make such a simple mistake every day for decades. Especially when their predictions are confirmed.

Did you actually someone would by that claim?
topsquark likes this.

Chinese-English

I like that navy:htam's first language is not English...I can't distinguish between the word cosmos and universe in English. In my Chinese-English,cosmos is bigger than universe, and universe means the world we are familiar with, and can be seen by people,..maybe certain type of blackhole also included...what's the difference of the word cosmos and universe in English?...Help...

God's problem or men's problem

Mathematics in the Eyes of God

There is a very funny small story when we talking about Special Relativity: ManA in the front of a train and manB in the rear, shoot at eachother.Observer1 in the coordinate system of the train saw that it was manA fired firstly. But in another coordinate system of a spaceship flying very fast over the train,observer2 might see that it was manB that fired firstly
Now, replace observer1 with a judge and observer2 with God. What a nice case!
If we replace observer1 with mankind and observer2 also with God, but the topic change to mathematics, it seems to be more serious?

Interesting but you should always

Beware the difference between extrapolation and interpolation.

There have been some spectacular mistakes as a result of not doing this in both Mathematics and Physics (and other disciplines too)

Cosmos and Universe

Cosmos and Universe are synonyms (they mean the same thing)

There is a subtle difference, but it is in the circumstances where a person would use these alternatives.

Cosmos would be more likely used in a poetic, artistic, or religious discussion.
Universe would be more likely used in a scientific discussion.

Cosmos includes the suggestion of purpose.
Universe is essentially mechanical.

cosmos-navy

Mir Woody's explanation of the word cosmos and universe is perfect, and I like the word cosmos a bit more. In fact, I also like navy a bit more than the warship. Maybe engineers like making warship a bit more.

black cat and white cat

Black cat, white cat, which cat can catch mouse, it will be a good cat. Black cat might have natural advantage, while white cat might have natural defect. But the situation might reverse sometime, for example,at daylight.Math is just as Black cat, philosophy is just as white cat, physics is just as the mouse
