I don't believe there is any other evidence. But you should read this

Keep in mind that id not merely that there is redshift and the redshift meaning that the galaxies are moving away from us, its the nature of the redshift and general relativity applied to it. When we look out into the cosmos at different galaxies we see that the further away a galaxy is from us the greatest its speed away from us. That's precisely what is to be expected in the space is expanding.

If you're looking for proof that space is expanding then you're wasting your time because physics is not about proving things.

I did a bit of hunting / googling around about this and the standard answer seems to be "dark energy". That seems to be the standard label but I have no idea what it is.

No. Dark energy does not tell us that the universe is expanding. The expansion of the universe is accelerating. We call the matter which is driving the acceleration dark energy.
