Conceptional question for Lens optics

For convex lens and concave lens

we always draw the lens, object, light rays, image etc on a paper which is a 2D consideration.

I would like to know what is the case in real 3D situation?

Will there be infinite Principal axes passing through the C (Center of Curvature) of the lens?

Maybe I should ask in this way, if the light rays come from the plane , say plane A, which is not cutting the lens into two symmetrical half, what will happen to the refracted rays leaving the lens? Will the refracted rays also on the same plane as the incident rays?

This question may help me to understand whether the image would be LATERALLY inverted
