More light problems

a) You are standing 2.0 m in front of a plane mirror and you wish to take a sharp photograph of yourself in the mirror. At what distance do you set the camera lens?

b) Your friend is standing beside you, 1.0 m away. At what distance do you set the camera lens for a sharp photrograph of your friend?


I don't how to do the above. I know it's supposed to be very easy but I'm lost. Any help on the above will be appreciated! Please explain how to do the above in simple terms.

Why are you lost? The lens distance has to be set to the same value as the distance to what you wish to photograph.
Find how far the images are from you using the laws of reflection.
