From the laws of reflection, the distance of every point on the obect from the mirror is the same as that of its corresponding point on the image from the mirror. The image in a plane mirror is laterally inverted i.e. if you move your right hand, your image moves its left. But if you move your hand towards or away from the mirror, the image also does the same. Only D will satisfy these conditions.
