refracteezy in this beezy.

a)Where must an object be placed to form
an image 30.7 cm from a diverging lens with
a focal length of 38.0 cm? Answer in units of
cm.

My feeble attempt:
1/p+1/q=1/f
1/p=1/f-1/q
1/p=-1/38-1/30.7
p=-16.981077115

Correct me.

In the diverging lens, the image is virtual. So in the equation you have to use proper sign to image distance and focal length.
