preview Latex form of equation

Should a preview post allow you to see the equation in notation form when written as Latex text? Because when I preview the following equ and it's still in the Latex form.

This should look like a continuity equ.
$\displaystyle \frac{\partial u }{\partial x}+\frac{\partial v }{\partial y}$

That's because LaTeX no longer works on the site. You might try the Texify website and copy and paste the "Code for forums" from there to here.
