Exclamation Basics of c.o.m

i take a proton and an electron, and find their center of mass. It should be somewhere near the proton(obvious!!).But then, the center of mass receives an internal coulomb force, which contradicts with the very definition of c.o.m,doesn't it? please help me,if u thnk u know about the c.o.m!!!
