What is the speed of the puddy just before it strikes the ceilng? \begin{align*}\displaystyle V_f^2 &= V_0^2 + 2ad \\ &=(9.7)^2 + 2(-9.8)(3)\\ &= 94.9-58.8\\ &= 36.1\\ V_f&\approx\color{red}{6 m/s} \end{align*} b, How much time from when it leaves your and does it take the puddy to reach the ceiling? \begin{align*}\displaystyle (6-9.7)/t&=-9.8\\ -3.7t&=-9.8\\ t&=\frac{-9.8}{-3.7}\\ t&\approx\color{red}{2.65s} \end{align*} just seeing if this is correct and suggestions Last edited by countdown; Jan 17th 2018 at 10:18 AM.

"Female genitalia or the acquiescence of female sexual company. Slang for "*****"..." Hmmmmm ... perhaps you mean putty sometimes used in fixing windows ... Answer (a) looks OK ... (b) ...initial velocity is 9.7 ....final velocity 6 .... so Average velocity is 7.85 m/sec Should take less than half a second to travel 3 meters
