The Egg

Hello, I have a question here, and quite frankly I'm absolutely stumped.

This is the question:

''You are provided with a known volume of water in a container, a salt solution of known concentration and a raw egg. The egg sinks in the water.
(i) Describe steps that can be taken to get the egg to float.
(ii)Describe how you would attempt to determine the density of the egg.

[No additional apparatus or material will be issued]''

If anyone can help me with this kudos to you.

My attempt at why the egg will float is, as the salt solution will increase the density of the water, thus increasing the upthrust to then make the egg float, but as for the density of the egg I'm honestly perplexed.

So ...the egg is in water , and has sunk to the bottom .... you have a supply of salt water of known concentration ...

Slowly add salt solution to the water the egg is in , stir carefully , this is going to increase the density of the liquid the egg is in ... when density of liquid is same as egg , the egg will start to rise , you want it not quite sinking, not quite floating ...

Now you have to find the density of the final solution , which is the same as the density of the egg, what was the original volume of the water??? what was the volume of salt solution added , how concentrated was it?? From this you have the final concentration of solution .. from this find the density, from a graph like this ....

You don't have to take any steps! Just wait until the egg rots!
