Smile pendulum and solenoid

i'm doing any assignment where a pendulum is swinging over a solenoid. a circuit is also used so that the solenoid is switched on and off automatically so that it attracts then repels the pendulum when it is over the solenoid. i need some things to test apart from using the magnetic field strength and pendulum formulas in my textbook - like changing turns on the coil and changing the length of the pendulum etc etc

any ideas greatly appreciated
