Finding Charge given expression for Electric Potential

Hi, I'm having some trouble with a problem I have regarding electric potential. I'm given the equation for the electric potential everywhere on the xy plane.

$\displaystyle V=(22/√((x+1.54)^2+y^2))-(38/√(x^2+(y-2.77)^2))$

There are two particles which I need to find the charge and coordinates for.

I know that you can find charge with $\displaystyle V=kq/r$

I just guessed that the coordinates to the particle closest to the origin is (-1.54, 0) and furthest is (0, 2.77) which is correct, but when I use these numbers to find the charge I'm getting the incorrect answer. Not really sure what's going on with this problem and all help is greatly appreciated.
